AI credits
What uses credits, how many you get, and buying more.
Pro or Lifetime
Credits pay for AI work: edits, new designs and React for edited designs. Everything else is free, as often as you like.
How many you get

| Free | No AI. Copying, themes, the CLI and AI tools work without credits. |
The account menu shows how many you have left, and when they refill.
What uses credits
- AI edits in the editor: 1 credit for a small one, like new text or a colour, more for bigger ones.
- Generating a design: usually 1 or 2 for a component, 3 to 10 for a page section.
- Copy React for an edited design: a few credits, once per version.
Copying, themes, editing by hand, the CLI, your AI tools and shadcn never use credits.
When something goes wrong
If an AI edit or a new design fails, your credits come back and the editor says No credits were used. A request the AI can’t do, like a whole page, is turned down before it starts, for free.
Buy more
When you’re running low, Buy more credits appears in the account menu (and Buy credits in the editor): 100 credits for $5 or 300 credits for $12. Bought credits never expire. Your monthly credits are used first.
