Our story

We built Sundial because our own calendars broke

In 2021 Marta was running the front desk of her mother's physiotherapy practice in Porto. Every Monday began with forty voicemails, a paper diary and a spreadsheet that never agreed with either of them.

Tomás, a friend from university, offered to fix it over a weekend. The weekend became a winter. By spring the practice had stopped double-booking patients, and three clinics on the same street were asking for a copy.

“We never set out to start a company. We set out to give Marta's mum her Mondays back.”

Tomás Silva

Sundial now keeps the diaries of 4,200 clinics, studios and salons in 19 countries. We are still 26 people, still in Lisbon, and we still answer support ourselves on Fridays.

Every feature starts the same way: someone at a front desk shows us what slows their week down. If you run a small practice and Monday starts with voicemails, we would love to hear from you.
